Garlic Butter Cheddar Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 70 grams cheddar cheese cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 80 grams butter cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 284 grams all purpose flour
  • 11 grams baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter mixed with 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt to brush on top of baked biscuits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F
  2. Sift flour and baking powder through a mesh strainer
  3. Cut butter and cheese cubes into flour and baking powder until cheese and butter chunks are the size of peas. (pulse with a food processor and this step is done in seconds but you can also knock it out with a stand mixer/paddle or a pastry blender)
  4. Add the garlic, salt, and parsely, mix well.
  5. If you're using a food processor, dump into a mixing bowl and add the sour cream, then the heavy cream, mixing well by hand between the two-don't over mix.
  6. Bake at 400 F for 18-20 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and immediately brush with melted garlic butter and serve warm.
