Ingredients

  • 16 slices of texas toast
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Dash or more of cinnamon to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1/2 cup warm heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425F and mix together:

6 large eggs, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, a dash or more of cinnamon to taste, 2 tablespoons of vanilla, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

    Whisk well.

    Then whisk in:

1-1/2 cups of warm milk, 1/2 cup of warm heavy cream, and 4 tablespoons of melted butter.

Grease sheet pan, pour custard mixture into sheet pan.

Lay bread slices in custard and let soak up for 1 minute.

Flip slices and allow custard mixture to soak in 1 minute, and sop up any remaining custard by sliding the slices around a bit.

Bake it on a low shelf in a preheated 425 degree oven for 10-15 minutes (until bottom is golden brown).

Move sheet pan up to the middle rack and broil in one minute increments until browned. Supervise to be sure it doesn't burn.

Turn sheet pan if one side seems to be browning faster than the other.
